Make the most of your time in London by doing an English course at the London Language Centre (LLC), part of the Institute of International Education in London (IIEL). IIEL is an international educational institute based in London. In addition to research into educational issues, IIEL offers several courses such as MA in Language Learning and Japanese Language Teaching course, Postgraduate Diploma / Certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language courses, Japanese as a Foreign Language (JFL), courses in Japanese as a Foreign Language and mother tongue courses for children as well as the British Council accredited courses in English as a Second Language. As many of our students are doing the Japanese Teacher Training Course at IIEL our students tend to be Japanese and so teachers can tailor their lessons to suit students' specific needs.

      ESL lessons are held at the historic, heritage-listed building of Charlton House in Greenwich.

    • The Teaching
      Courses at London Language Centre are accredited by the British Council. Our teachers are qualified and experienced. At LLC we are very concerned with individual learner needs and try to ensure that everyone takes part fully in the lessons.

    • Accommodation
      We can help with the arrangement of home-stay accommodation if you are doing a full-time course (more than 15 hours per week). Home-stay accommodation is from £125 per week for bed, breakfast and an evening meal. The accommodation search fee is £50. To book please see application form.

    • Terms and Conditions
      Minimum age is 16 on all adult English courses.
      Minimum registration is 2 weeks.
      Discounts apply only to courses booked and paid for in advance.
      Course fees include registration on courses over 2 weeks, certificates, photocopies given in class and language exchange.
      They do not include accommodation, course books, public examination fees, outings or transport to school.
      Fees are non-refundable unless the course is cancelled by IIEL. Courses may occasionally be cancelled at the schools discretion.

    • Payment
      You can pay by:-
      - Cash or Travellers Cheques in £ sterling at the school.
      - Bankers draft in £ sterling
      - Bank transfer in £ sterling with course name and start date on.
      - Cheque (To be made payable to IIEL or Institute of International Education in London. Please write student's name and any invoice number on the back).

      The Institute of International Education in London is not responsible for any bank charges; these will be passed on to the student on arrival at school.

    • British Immigration Regulations
      All non EU students must study for a minimum of 15 hours a week according to British immigration laws. Also if you tend to stay in UK more than 6 months you need to apply Entry Clearance at British Embassy in Japan before arriving UK.
